Central Ohio is welcoming visitors to the Thyme for Wine Herb Trail, a unique agritourism experience that blends wine tasting with home gardening.
The trail will run from June 1 through June 30, 2026, and bring together wine lovers, home chefs, gardeners, and families for an enjoyable educational journey.
Participants will travel along the scenic Glacial’s Edge Tour Wine Trail, visiting wineries across central Ohio.
At each stop, guests will receive one element for a shared herb window box, slowly building a complete herb garden by the end of the trail. In addition, visitors can enjoy wine samples and light bites at each participating winery.
Each ticket includes a window box, herb packets, a planting kit, small gardening tools, starter pods, and recipe suggestions. These supplies allow participants to grow fresh herbs at home while learning how herbs can enhance cooking and wine pairings.
The trail encourages creativity, hands‑on learning, and appreciation for local agriculture.
Participating wineries include Revolutionary Rockbridge in Rockbridge, Three Oaks in Granville, National Road Winery in Thornville, Headley Inn in Zanesville, Valley View Hills in Heath, Rhonemus Winery in Lancaster, and Hocking Hills Winery in Logan.
Visitors may complete the trail at their own pace during regular winery hours throughout the month.
Single tickets are priced at $40 and include one herb element per stop, two wine samples, and one light bite at each winery.
Couples tickets are available for $50 and include shared gardening elements, two wine samples per person, and one light bite per person.
The trail is sponsored by the Ohio Wine Producers Association. Tickets can be purchased online at www.OhioWines.org or by calling 440‑466‑4417.
The trail name, “Thyme for Wine,” was selected through a public naming contest. The winning entry was submitted by Sherailyn G and was chosen from more than 600 creative entries submitted by Ohio wine enthusiasts.
The Thyme for Wine Herb Trail offers a creative and relaxing way to explore Ohio wineries, support local agriculture, and enjoy a memorable summer experience.
