New York Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball warns consumers of the recall of Meadowbrook Farms' Pasteurized Chocolate Milk due to improper pasteurization. The milk, processed on April 24, 2024, in Clarksville, New York, was distributed across the Capital Region.
The affected product is packaged in half-gallon glass containers with a black dot on the cap signifying the lot code.
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets discovered during routine inspection that this lot of Chocolate Milk was not properly pasteurized. Proper pasteurization is crucial for eliminating pathogenic bacteria like Listeria and Salmonella.
As of now, no illnesses have been reported to the Department in connection with this product. Consumers are advised to check their Chocolate Milk for the specified lot code and refrain from consuming it if affected.
This recall underscores the importance of proper food safety practices in the production and distribution of dairy products. Consumers should remain careful and follow official recall notices to ensure their safety.
