By Andi Anderson

The Driftless Region Beef Conference, in its 13th year, is set to provide a comprehensive learning experience for beef producers. The event focuses on strengthening herd operations and exploring the future of the national beef cow herd.

With cow herd numbers at record lows and fed cattle figures declining, the conference highlights marketing strategies and herd expansion opportunities.

Producers and Extension specialists will gather to discuss timely topics and production needs. Attendees can participate in keynote sessions and select from eight workshop topics to tailor their learning experience. These workshops aim to address diverse aspects of cattle production, equipping attendees with actionable insights for their operations.

A notable feature of the conference is the Bull Pen discussion, held on Thursday evening. This engaging session will include a panel of locker plant managers who will share valuable insights into marketing beef locally, offering producers a deeper understanding of market trends and consumer preferences.

Participants will also have the chance to visit the display area, where conference sponsors showcase their products and services. Networking opportunities abound as attendees connect with fellow beef producers and industry experts from the region and beyond.

Registration Details:

Cost: $120 per person if registered by January 10.

Late Registration: $145 per person after January 10.

The Driftless Region Beef Conference is a must-attend event for producers looking to navigate current industry challenges and strengthen their herd operations. Join this educational program to gain knowledge, build connections, and prepare for the future of beef production.
