Engler Program Awards Scholarships to 100 Students

The Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Nebraska Lincoln has awarded scholarships to 100 students for the 2026 to 2027 academic year. A total of $194,000 in one-time scholarships will support students who are interested in entrepreneurship and agribusiness development.

The Engler program was founded in 2010 with support from the Paul and Virginia Engler Foundation. The program focuses on helping students discover their purpose through entrepreneurship. It brings together students from different academic backgrounds and encourages them to create solutions that benefit communities and strengthen agriculture systems.

The scholarship recipients include both incoming freshmen and continuing students. These students come from different towns and states, showing the wide reach of the program. Some of the incoming freshman recipients include Adrianna Mincer from Arlington Nebraska Claire McGrury from Beatrice Nebraska Katrina Moyer from Beemer Nebraska Becca Podolak from Bellwood Nebraska Megan Macklin from Blue Hill Nebraska Justin Dobrinski from Bridgeport Nebraska Cody Marshall from Burwell Nebraska and Ava Larson from Clearbrook Minnesota among many others.

Continuing student recipients include Brant Benes from Albion Nebraska Breanna Bosshamer from Amherst Nebraska Morgan Bonifas from Aurora Nebraska John Garcia from Baker City Oregon Alexis Warner from Blair Nebraska Libby Macklin from Blue Hill Nebraska Emma Klug from Columbus Nebraska and Gage Fryda from Kearney Nebraska along with many other students across different regions.

These scholarships will help students continue their education while building leadership skills and business ideas. The program encourages students to work on real world challenges and create solutions that improve agriculture and rural communities.

The Engler program also builds strong connections between students and industry leaders. This helps students gain practical experience and prepares them for future careers in agribusiness and entrepreneurship.
