The Jr. Crop Scout School, an event for young agriculture enthusiasts, will be held on June 25, 2024, at the Carrington Research Extension Center in Carrington, ND. This unique workshop invites youth ages 12-18 to dive into the world of agronomy from 8:45 am to 2:00 pm CST.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in determining crop growth stages, identifying weeds, conducting crop stand counts, and understanding the basics of soil science.
These activities are not only educational but also crucial for anyone considering a career in agronomy. The skills acquired here are foundational for future agricultural professionals.
The event is sponsored by the ND Soybean Council and ND Corn Council, ensuring attendees receive top-notch guidance and resources. Each participant will also receive a crop scouting kit and lunch, all for a nominal fee of $10, making it an accessible learning opportunity for all interested youth.
