Exploring Flower Farming Opportunities in Minnesota Webinar Series

By Scout Nelson

The University of Minnesota Extension Women in Agriculture Network is offering a Winter Farm Flourish webinar series designed to support learning and new opportunities in agriculture.

As part of this series, the session titled Exploring the Business of Flower Farming in Minnesota – Part 1 will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Central time. The event will be held online, making it accessible to participants across the region.

This session will focus on the growing interest in flower farming, a niche yet promising area of agriculture. Participants will learn from Extension educator Allie Kuppenbender, who will share helpful information about the business, production practices and opportunities within the field of flower farming.

This educational session is designed for farmers, ranchers, agribusiness workers and individuals connected to agricultural organizations who want to expand their knowledge or explore new ventures.

The event is free, but registration is required to attend. Organizers encourage participants to sign up in advance to secure access to the webinar. The University of Minnesota Extension emphasizes its commitment to providing an inclusive learning environment.

Individuals with disabilities who need accommodations are encouraged to contact the event organizer at least two weeks before the session begins. Requests submitted after that time will be considered and honored whenever possible.

The session will be offered in English, and interpreter services may be available upon request. This ensures participants with language needs can fully benefit from the educational experience.

Flower farming has become an increasingly popular enterprise, offering opportunities for small‑scale growers, diversified farms, and those interested in creative agricultural businesses.

Through this session, attendees will gain insights into what it takes to start and manage a flower farming operation in Minnesota’s climate, including seasonal considerations, planning, and basic business preparation.

The Winter Farm Flourish webinar series continues to provide valuable educational resources for individuals across the agricultural community, supporting growth, learning and innovation.

This session on flower farming adds another meaningful topic to the series, helping participants explore new skills that can contribute to their farm or business.
