Farm safely with summer webinar tips

By Andi Anderson

This summer, the Ohio Farm Bureau Young Agricultural Professionals are set to deliver a captivating series of lunch and learn webinars. Partnering with Nationwide, this series promises to equip participants with the latest in agricultural technology and strategies to safeguard farms and rural communities.

Each session offers vital insights into pioneering solutions and research, crucial for today's agribusiness professionals.

Scheduled across various dates, the webinars are designed to address different facets of farm protection:

July 19: Innovations in Ag Risk Prediction - Vicente Rico, a senior consultant of product development with Nationwide Agribusiness, will discuss advanced ag tech solutions that help predict and mitigate potential losses, ensuring operational continuity.

July 31: Innovations in Ag Risk Prevention - Rico returns to explore more about technological advancements that aid in preventing losses, keeping farm operations seamless and efficient.

August 14: Agtech Innovation Hub - Bethany Rowles from Nationwide Agribusiness will unveil ongoing research through a collaborative initiative with the Ohio Farm Bureau, Ohio State University, and Nationwide. This session focuses on fostering new technologies to improve the agricultural ecosystem and manage climate risks more effectively.

August 30: ATV/UTV Rider Safety - Engage with Emily Atwood, manager of risk management consulting at Nationwide Agribusiness, who will lead an outreach campaign aimed at reducing accidents on ATVs and UTVs.

Each webinar runs from noon to 1 p.m. EST, providing an hour of workers’ compensation training, which counts towards the annual Workers’ Compensation Group Rating Program employer two-hour training requirement.

Registration for each virtual session is mandatory. Interested participants can register at Ohio Farm Bureau Webinars. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Ohio Farm Bureau Young Agricultural Professionals program to offer leadership development and professional growth opportunities to its members aged 18-35.

Further details about the program and its other activities are available at Experience YAP.

This educational series is an excellent opportunity for young farmers and ag professionals to learn directly from experts and integrate cutting-edge solutions into their farming practices, ensuring safety and enhancing productivity.
