Farmers Gather for Agriculture Day

Farmers Gather for Agriculture Day

By Scout Nelson

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation plans to celebrate National Agriculture Day with a special event at the Minnesota State Capitol on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The event aims to highlight the importance of agriculture and its strong impact on the state’s economy and communities.

More than 140 members from across Minnesota are expected to attend the event. These members will gather at the Capitol to share their experiences and discuss the role agriculture plays in everyday life. The event provides an opportunity for farmers to connect directly with lawmakers and state leaders.

The main gathering is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. on the Capitol steps. A tractor display will be featured during the event, symbolizing the strength and value of the agriculture industry. A special proclamation recognizing Agriculture Day in Minnesota will also be read during the program.

Leaders from both the senate and house agriculture committees are expected to attend the event. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture will also participate, showing support for the industry and its growth. The event highlights collaboration between farmers, government leaders, and agricultural organizations.

In addition to the main program, interviews will be available throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Media representatives will have the opportunity to speak with farm leaders and individuals from different parts of the state. These conversations will help share real stories about farming, challenges, and opportunities within the agriculture sector.

The best opportunity for live coverage will be during the gathering at the Capitol, followed by individual interviews. Those interested in arranging interviews are encouraged to coordinate in advance to ensure availability.

Overall, the event focuses on raising awareness about agriculture, strengthening connections between farmers and policymakers, and promoting the importance of agriculture in Minnesota’s future. It serves as a reminder of how vital the agriculture industry is in supporting food production, economic growth, and rural communities.
