FFA officers to champion agriculture in 2024

By Andi Anderson

The National FFA Organization has announced the selection of twelve FFA State Officers as SpeakAg Pioneers for the 2024-2025 term. These individuals have been chosen to serve as advocates for agriculture, promoting agricultural literacy and raising awareness about the industry on both local and national levels.

The SpeakAg Pioneers will participate in various initiatives such as hosting workshops, creating social media content, and representing the agricultural industry at key events like National Ag Day and the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo.

This prestigious role provides the selected officers with the opportunity to lead among FFA’s more than one million members and educate the public about the importance of agriculture.

The program also prepares these young leaders for future careers in agricultural communications and advocacy.

According to Celya Glowacki, National FFA’s Manager of Advocacy, Literacy, and Ag-Based Experiences, the SpeakAg Pioneer program is an essential step for FFA members interested in communication and advocacy careers.

"These students have already shown leadership within their state FFA associations, and now they have another platform to serve the industry they love while gaining valuable skills," said Glowacki.

The 2024-2025 SpeakAg Pioneer Class includes representatives from various states, including Nebraska, Oklahoma, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Montana, Idaho, Tennessee, Alaska, Missouri, New Jersey, and Iowa.

Each of these officers has been actively involved in their respective state FFA associations and will now work on a broader stage to promote agricultural awareness.

Corporate sponsorship for the SpeakAg Pioneers comes from notable organizations, including Growth Energy, Merck Animal Health, and Wrangler.

Through their support, these young leaders will have the resources to make a significant impact on agricultural advocacy in the coming year.
