The 40th annual World Forage Analysis Superbowl is now accepting entries from forage producers across North America. This exciting competition, held in conjunction with the World Dairy Expo, offers a chance to win over $26,000 in cash prizes for the highest quality forages.
There are eight divisions in the Superbowl, each focusing on a specific type of forage like dairy hay, commercial hay, or corn silage. Each division winner receives $2,500, with additional prizes for second to fifth place. A Grand Champion Forage Producer is also chosen, earning an extra $2,500. First-time entrants can compete for a special $2,000 prize.
Samples are judged through a combination of laboratory analysis and visual inspection. This ensures that the winning forages are not only nutritious but also meet important physical characteristics. All entrants receive a detailed analysis of their sample after the competition.
The entry fee is $40 and includes the sample analysis. The deadline to submit entries for corn silage is July 10th, while all other forages are due by August 22nd. Entry forms can be found at www.foragesuperbowl.org or by contacting the event sponsors.
The World Forage Analysis Superbowl is a great opportunity for forage producers to showcase their skills and potentially win significant cash prizes. It's also a valuable learning experience, as participants receive detailed feedback on their forage quality.
