Fountain County Workshop Highlights Soil Health

Fountain County Workshop Highlights Soil Health

By Andi Anderson

Agricultural producers and industry professionals will have an opportunity to expand their knowledge during the Fountain County PARP – Northwest District educational program on July 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST at the Fountain County Fairgrounds in Veedersburg, Indiana.

The event is designed to provide useful information on essential farming topics that support both productivity and environmental stewardship. Participants will learn about soil fertility, soil health improvement strategies, nutrient management practices, and important regulatory developments affecting agriculture.

The program will be led by Adam Tyler, ANR Educator, who will share insights and updates relevant to modern crop production. The workshop aims to help farmers make informed decisions that can improve soil performance while maintaining sustainable farming practices.

One of the key topics will be soil fertility and soil health. Healthy soils play a vital role in crop growth, water retention, nutrient availability, and long-term farm productivity. Attendees will learn about practices that can strengthen soil quality and support successful crop production.

The event will also feature a discussion on Category 14 updates and nutrient management utilizing manure. Proper nutrient management helps farmers maximize the value of available nutrients while reducing waste and supporting environmental protection. The session will explore how manure can be effectively used as a nutrient source within crop production systems.

Another important focus will be the 2026 Endangered Species Act (ESA) Regulatory Update. Regulatory changes can influence farm management decisions, making it important for producers to stay informed. The update will help attendees better understand current requirements and their potential impact on agricultural operations.

Educational programs such as this provide valuable opportunities for farmers to learn from experts, stay current with industry developments, and adopt practices that improve efficiency and sustainability. They also encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences among agricultural professionals.

The Fountain County PARP event highlights the importance of continuing education in agriculture. By addressing soil management, nutrient use, and regulatory compliance, the program supports farmers in maintaining productive operations while meeting evolving industry standards.

Farmers, agribusiness professionals, and individuals interested in crop production are encouraged to attend and benefit from the practical information shared during this educational workshop.
