Free help for hurricane-hit farms in Florida

Free help for hurricane-hit farms in Florida

By Jamie Martin

Following Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton, farmers in Florida can access support for their recovery efforts. Multiple Farm Recovery Centers will be open across the state during the first two weeks of December 2024.

These centers, staffed by representatives from federal agencies like the USDA and FEMA, along with Florida agencies and nonprofits, will provide valuable resources and information to affected farmers.

Experts will be on hand to discuss various programs designed to help with recovery from hurricane damage.

Here's a breakdown of the Farm Recovery Center locations and dates -

December 3rd: The Ernest Courtoy Civic Center, Jasper, FL

December 5th: Mayo Community Center, Mayo, FL (and) UF/IFAS Extension Suwannee County, Live Oak, FL

December 6th: Levy County Government Center Cafeteria, Bronson, FL

December 9th: UF/IFAS Extension Polk County W.H. Stuart Center, Bartow, FL

All centers will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST.
