Central Dakota Ag Day, organized by North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension, will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, at NDSU’s Carrington Research Extension Center. This annual event promises an exciting program featuring prominent speakers and valuable sessions for local producers.
The highlight of the event is a keynote presentation titled “D.C. Agriculture Update” by Tom Brusegaard, a field representative for Senator John Hoeven. This session will focus on federal agricultural policies, the latest developments in the farm bill, and other legislative priorities.
Jeff Gale, NDSU Extension agent in Foster County, emphasizes the importance of this keynote: "We’re excited to have Tom Brusegaard, who will share valuable insights into federal agricultural policy decisions. This is a terrific opportunity for producers to learn about what they can expect from future legislation.”
In addition to the keynote, the daylong event features 18 concurrent sessions. These cover key areas such as agronomy, livestock management, and agricultural life, providing valuable information for a wide range of producers.
The event concludes with a general session by NDSU Extension crops economist Frayne Olson, titled “Now What? 2025 Crop Market Outlook.” This session will offer valuable perspectives on future market trends and opportunities.
Central Dakota Ag Day begins with coffee and doughnuts at 9:30 a.m., followed by introductions at 9:50 a.m. and the first sessions at 10 a.m. No registration is required, and lunch will be provided. Certified crop advisors can also earn continuing education units by attending various seminars.
