IL Corn Welcomes Japan Media for Ethanol Tour

IL Corn Welcomes Japan Media for Ethanol Tour

By Andi Anderson

This week, IL Corn welcomed a group of journalists from major Japanese media outlets to explore the U.S. ethanol industry and the role of corn in producing clean, sustainable fuel.

Organized by the U.S. Grains Council, the visit aimed to provide accurate, in-depth information about how American corn supports food, feed, fuel, and future innovation.

The focus of the discussions included corn-based ethanol, its environmental benefits, and the growing potential of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

The Japanese media team met with federal and state leaders, ethanol producers, and local corn farmers to see firsthand how corn is grown and used for ethanol. These conversations highlighted the strong connection between U.S. agriculture and clean energy development.

Japan is a key export market for American corn and ethanol. The journalists’ reports are expected to play an important role in informing consumers, business leaders, and policymakers in Japan about the sustainability, reliability, and benefits of using U.S. bioethanol for both road and air transportation.

IL Corn was proud to take part in these exchanges, which support efforts to strengthen international relationships and build global understanding of Illinois corn’s value. The organization continues to promote the many uses of corn and the importance of increasing demand for sustainable fuels made from farm-grown resources.

Through global education and partnership efforts like this, IL Corn supports the future of agriculture and helps fuel a cleaner, more sustainable world.
