The event is free for everyone, and parking at the fairgrounds will also be free. Guests are invited to enjoy lunch while experiencing a preview of the fair atmosphere.

Several well-known food vendors will be present, offering popular fair favorites. These include:

  • Vose’s Korndog - Celebrating 60 years in 2026
  • Scoop Du Jour - Reigning Golden Abe’s Food Contest winner

The food variety reflects the unique taste and fun that visitors expect from the Illinois State Fair.

The event also offers opportunities to plan ahead for the fair. Visitors can purchase important items such as mega passes, jumbo passes, admission booklets, and parking passes during the celebration. In addition, five State Fair prize packages will be awarded. No purchase is required to enter, and winners do not need to be present.

The Illinois State Fair will run from August 13 to 23, 2026. Speaking about the importance of the celebration, Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II said, “The Illinois State Fair is one of our state’s great traditions, and the 100 Days Out Celebration is a fun way to begin the countdown,” adding that it helps remind people why the fair is special.

Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark also shared her thoughts, stating, “There’s nothing quite like State Fair food, and we’re thrilled to bring a few of those favorites together for this event,” highlighting the excitement leading up to opening day.
