Illinois treasurer's agriculture photo contest

Illinois treasurer's agriculture photo contest

By Andi Anderson

Calling all young photographers in Illinois! The Illinois State Treasurer's 2024 Cream of the Crop photo contest is here, and we want to see your unique perspective on agriculture in the state. Students aged 8-18 are invited to submit their best agriculture-themed photos for a chance to win scholarships and have their work featured in prestigious venues.

Electronic submissions are open to Illinois students in three age-based categories: 8-10, 11-14, and 15-18. Each student can submit up to two photos by June 14th using the provided link. Bright Start scholarships worth $1,000, $500, and $250 will be awarded to the top three winners in each category.

Winning photos will receive well-deserved recognition, being featured in Ag Invest marketing materials, next year's Cream of the Crop calendar, and even showcased at the 2024 Illinois State Fair.

Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs encourages students to seize this opportunity to unleash their creativity and deepen their understanding of Illinois agriculture through photography. It's a chance to not only showcase your talent but also to explore the rich tapestry of agriculture in our state.

Ag Invest, a vital agricultural program, stands as a testament to Illinois's commitment to supporting its farmers and agriculture professionals. By participating in this contest, students not only engage in artistic expression but also contribute to the celebration of Illinois's vibrant agricultural heritage.
