Indiana Ag Director to Address Farmers in La Porte County

By Andi Anderson

Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Don Lamb will speak at an upcoming event in La Porte County to address farmer concerns about recent policy changes. The event, hosted by the La Porte County Farm Bureau, will take place on March 21 in LaCrosse.

With a new administration in place, farmers are facing uncertainty about potential changes in agricultural policies. Lamb will discuss how the “Make America Healthy Again” initiative could impact farming practices and what the future may hold for the agriculture industry.

La Porte County Farm Bureau President Mark Parkman acknowledged that farmers often feel uncertain when a new administration takes office. He emphasized that while past policies have been favorable, future decisions remain unpredictable.

The event will be held at The Center, located at 100 S. Washington St. in LaCrosse. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for a chili supper, where attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share. Drinks and chili will be provided.

The event is free and open to the public, making it an excellent opportunity for farmers and community members to learn more about the potential changes in agriculture policy.

By attending, farmers can gain insights into how policy shifts may affect their livelihoods and what actions they can take to prepare for the future.
