The Indiana Forage Council (IFC) will host its annual meeting on March 6 at the Branch Gathering Place + Coffee House in Greensburg. The event, which runs from 4 to 8:30 p.m., will feature industry updates, an awards ceremony, dinner, and a documentary screening on grazing sustainability.
The evening will begin with an optional IFC business meeting at 4 p.m., open to the public. Dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m., followed by the main program. A highlight of the event is the screening of “Roots So Deep,” a documentary exploring cattle farmers, scientists, and the impact of regenerative grazing on soil health.
IFC member Elysia Rodgers, an agriculture and natural resource Extension educator, emphasized the importance of the gathering, stating, “The Indiana Forage Council annual meeting is a great time for forage enthusiasts to connect, share knowledge, and discuss sustainable grazing practices.”
Attendees must register by February 27 by contacting the Decatur County Extension Office at 812-663-8388 or emailing allen484@purdue.edu. There is no registration fee, but attendees will pay $20 at the door to cover the meal cost.
The Indiana Forage Council encourages all farmers, ranchers, and forage enthusiasts to attend and participate in discussions on forage production, grazing management, and sustainable agriculture.
