Indiana Farm Bureau Health Plans (INFB Health Plans) continues to expand across the state, reaching nearly 5,000 active plans as of January 2025—a 14% increase from the previous year. These plans now cover more than 10,300 individuals, providing more affordable health care options.
The greatest growth occurred in urban areas, especially around Indianapolis. Marion and Hamilton counties saw the highest number of plans, with Marion County experiencing a 40% increase from 2023 to 2024. Other counties near Indianapolis, such as Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan, and Hancock, also saw significant growth.
INFB Health Plans expanded beyond central Indiana, reaching metro areas like the Chicagoland region (Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties), Terre Haute (Vigo County), and Evansville (Vanderburgh County). Additionally, rural areas such as Floyd and Spencer counties saw over 50% growth, while Kosciusko and Delaware counties increased by 30%.
Steve Allen, INFB Health Plans manager, highlighted the growing demand for affordable health care across different communities. “We are pleased with the progress of INFB Health Plans. The need is greater than just in agriculture—it extends to cities, suburbs, and rural areas,” he said.
Chris Burgei, a small business owner in Hamilton County, switched from private insurance to INFB Health Plans. “I’m saving $1,000 a month with better coverage and a lower deductible,” he shared.
With its expanding reach and cost-effective options, INFB Health Plans continues to provide reliable health care solutions for Hoosiers statewide.
