Iowa Agriculture Department Moves to Hoover Building July 1

Iowa Agriculture Department Moves to Hoover Building July 1

By Andi Anderson

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship will begin a new chapter on July 1, 2025, as it relocates to the Hoover State Office Building in Des Moines.

After over 40 years in the Henry A. Wallace State Office Building, the Department will officially shift to its new home at the end of June.

The move marks the end of an era as the Department was the final tenant in the Wallace Building.

The new office space will be located on the fifth floor of the Hoover Building, which is situated in the Iowa Capitol Complex, near the intersection of E. 14th Street and Court Avenue—northeast of the Iowa Supreme Court Building and southeast of the State Capitol.

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig shared enthusiasm about the relocation, stating that the new facility will allow the Department to continue providing excellent service to Iowans and the state’s agricultural sector.

He emphasized the importance of using the updated contact information to ensure continued communication and accessibility.

The Department welcomes constituents and visitors to the following new contact address:

  • Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship
  • Hoover State Office Building
  • 1305 E. Walnut St.
  • Des Moines, IA 50319
  • Main Phone Number: (515) 281-5321
  • Fax Number: (515) 281-4282
  • Online Contact Form: https://iowaagriculture.gov/contact

This relocation is part of the Department’s commitment to efficiency and accessibility, offering a fresh setting to support Iowa’s thriving agricultural community. The move also strengthens its presence within the heart of the state’s government operations.
