The South Dakota Swine Summit, set for June 13, 2024, is a unique educational opportunity for young individuals aged 12 to 21 interested in the swine industry. This event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is hosted at various locations within South Dakota State University (SDSU).
Participants will get an exclusive look at the SDSU Swine Education and Research Facility and the SDSU Offsite Research Facility. The day is packed with educational sessions covering crucial topics such as biosecurity, nutrition, animal evaluation, showmanship and daily care, and carcass evaluation and anatomy.
This summit is not only a chance to gain valuable knowledge but also to explore potential careers within the swine industry. To ensure a spot at this enlightening event, interested attendees must register by June 7. Although the event is free, registration is mandatory to participate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for young enthusiasts to dive deep into the agricultural world, directly interacting with experts and gaining firsthand experience in modern swine management practices.
