The Kansas Beef Council has announced three Beef Quality Assurance trainings scheduled across Kansas during spring 2026. These sessions are part of the council’s ongoing efforts to promote cattle’s well-being of beef quality and food safety throughout the state’s beef industry.
The training will focus on Beef Quality Assurance certification and will provide participants with updated information on recommended practices and certification requirements. The sessions are designed to help producers stay informed about current industry expectations while reinforcing research-based management practices that support continuous improvement.
Each training event will begin with a beef dinner served at 6 p.m. followed by the educational session. The program will be led by a veterinary expert from Kansas State University who will share practical insights related to animal health handling and food safety.
The spring 2026 training schedule includes three locations. The first session will take place on March 10 in Washington, Kansas at the Washington Sales Pavilion. The second training is scheduled for March 12 in Emporia Kansas at the Anderson Building located at the Lyon County Fairgrounds. The final session will be held on March 24 in Fort Scott, Kansas at Fort Scott Livestock.
“These BQA trainings not only keep producers up to speed on current industry issues, but they also are a great review of research-based best management practices for producers to utilize on their path of continuous improvement,” K-State Beef Extension Veterinarian, A.J. Tarpoff said. “Not only will you walk away with some practical information, but these meetings are also a great opportunity to visit with your friends and neighbors. Nothing beats our beef producer community. I look forward to interacting with and hearing from all the attendees during this series.”
The events are free to attend, but registration is required. Interested participants can register by emailing KBC@KansasBeef.org or calling 785-273-5225. Additional details about the Kansas Beef Council and its programs are available on the organization’s official website.
