The Kansas Beef Council (KBC) brought beef to the spotlight on June 28 during a Sporting Kansas City soccer match attended by over 17,000 fans. For the first time, KBC hosted an interactive booth at the stadium, educating families on the benefits of beef in a fun and engaging way.
Located near the entrance, nearly 75% of attendees passed by the booth, where fans could spin a prize wheel for beef-themed giveaways or kick a soccer ball measured by a radar gun to win the day’s “fastest kick” honor. While kids played, parents learned how beef supports athletic performance, especially among young athletes.
KBC shared brochures with nutritious beef recipes and offered QR codes linking to more information on healthy eating with beef. Fans were also invited to subscribe to Beef So Simple, a newsletter from Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner, featuring tips and easy recipes for home-cooked beef meals.
Inside the stadium, video ads funded by the beef checkoff played during the game, reinforcing the message that “beef belongs on every plate.” These efforts helped connect the importance of beef to athletic strength, energy, and daily family meals.
Sporting Kansas City is not only home to a professional soccer team but also supports one of the country’s strongest youth soccer communities. By partnering with Sporting KC, the Kansas Beef Council is creating lasting impressions with families and youth athletes.
“Beef fuels champions,” is the message KBC is promoting as it continues to engage the next generation with the value of high-quality protein, aiming to inspire healthier eating and support for Kansas agriculture through sports and community outreach.
