Kansas Event Supports Animal Health

Kansas Event Supports Animal Health

By Scout Nelson

The Animal Health Intelligence Summit will take place on April 29 in Council Grove, Kansas. The event is organized by the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics at Kansas State University along with the National Agricultural Biosecurity Center.

The summit will be held at HP Spur, a modern education facility owned by Tom Jones. He also owns and manages Hy-Plains Feedyard near Montezuma. This location provides a suitable setting for discussions on livestock health and innovation.

The event aims to bring together cattle producers, veterinarians, researchers, and industry partners. Participants will focus on using data and technology to improve animal health and decision making on farms. The discussions will help farmers better understand how to respond to challenges in livestock management.

Experts from the Kansas Department of Agriculture and Kansas State University will share updates on current animal health issues. These include emerging diseases and other concerns that affect the cattle industry. The Center for Outcomes Research and Epidemiology will also present insights to help improve livestock care.

Staff from the National Agricultural Biosecurity Center will introduce new research and tools. These tools are designed to support farmers in making informed decisions and preparing potential risks. The goal is to improve industry resilience and protect livestock health.

The summit highlights the importance of combining science, data, and practical experience. By learning from experts and sharing knowledge, attendees can improve farm practices and reduce risks.

The event is free to attend, but registration is required due to limited space. Interested participants can view the full schedule and register by visiting the official link.

This summit offers a valuable opportunity for the livestock community to stay informed and prepare for future challenges in animal health management.
