KFB Backs Schmidt for Governor

KFB Backs Schmidt for Governor

By Scout Nelson

Kansas Farm Bureau’s (KFB) Voters Organized To Elect Farm Bureau Friends (VOTE FBF) political action committee has officially endorsed Vicki Schmidt in her campaign for governor of Kansas. The announcement was made in Manhattan and reflects the organization’s continued support for candidates who understand and advocate for agriculture and rural communities.

The endorsement highlights Schmidt’s long record of public service and her commitment to addressing the needs of Kansans. According to Kansas Farm Bureau leaders, her experience and leadership qualities make her a strong candidate for the state’s highest office.

KFB President Glenn Brunkow praised Schmidt and her running mate, Joe Newland, for their dedication to serving Kansas. Brunkow said, "Vicki Schmidt has shown throughout her distinguished career in public service she’s willing to listen and make decisions based on what's best for Kansas,” said KFB President Glenn Brunkow. “Paired with Joe Newland, who has spent his career advocating for agriculture and rural communities, this ticket has the experience, vision and determination to build a brighter future for Kansas."

The VOTE FBF political action committee has played an important role in supporting candidates who align with the interests of Kansas farmers, ranchers, and rural residents. Since 1993, the committee has endorsed individuals seeking public office who demonstrate a strong understanding of agricultural issues and rural development.

The endorsement process involves significant participation from Farm Bureau members across Kansas. Recommendations from members help identify candidates who are committed to improving opportunities for the agricultural sector and supporting the economic growth of rural communities.

The VOTE FBF board consists of ten members who carefully review candidates and their positions before making endorsement decisions. The committee places a strong focus on selecting leaders who recognize the importance of agriculture to Kansas’ economy and future.

Agriculture remains one of the state’s leading industries, making support from organizations such as Kansas Farm Bureau an important part of many political campaigns. Through endorsements and advocacy efforts, the organization seeks to ensure that the voices of farmers, ranchers, and rural residents are represented in government.

The endorsement of Vicki Schmidt reflects the Kansas Farm Bureau’s confidence in her ability to address key issues affecting agriculture and rural Kansas. The organization believes her leadership, along with Joe Newland’s experience in agricultural advocacy, can help strengthen communities and create new opportunities across the state.
