Marlene Eick appointed as Ohio Farm Bureau's leadership director

Marlene Eick of Wooster has recently been appointed as the Senior Director of Leadership Development at the Ohio Farm Bureau.

In her new role, Eick will oversee the Leadership Development team and manage key initiatives including AgriPOWER, Young Agricultural Professionals, Youth Pathways, and Ag Literacy programs. Her responsibilities will also extend to planning and managing other leadership development activities and events.

With a rich background in agricultural leadership, Eick brings a wealth of experience to her new position.

Her journey includes notable leadership roles such as the president of the Wayne County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees and recipient of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation Excellence in Agriculture Award. Her educational background is equally impressive, with a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree from the University of Florida, both in agricultural education.

Before her current appointment, Eick was the director of marketing and communications at Ohio Corn & Wheat. Here, she spearheaded the organization’s communications and membership strategies and provided leadership training utilizing her Maxwell Leadership certification.

Eick’s experience also spans across her work as a leadership coach and consultant, where she facilitated professional development training for various organizations at local, state, and national levels.

Raised on a family farm in Hancock County, Eick has a deep connection to the agricultural community, which she now serves with her husband, B.J., from their home in Wayne County.

Her extensive involvement also includes serving on the Ohio FFA Foundation Board of Trustees, reflecting her commitment to nurturing future leaders in agriculture.

Eick’s appointment is a strategic move for the Ohio Farm Bureau, aimed at enhancing their leadership programs and further developing the capabilities of young professionals in agriculture.

As she takes the helm of this crucial department, her comprehensive background and dedication to agricultural education are expected to drive significant advancements in the leadership development initiatives at the Farm Bureau.
