Michigan’s grape and wine industry continues to evolve, and the Dirt to Glass Conference plays a key role in fostering collaboration and innovation.
Scheduled for August 21-22, 2025, in Traverse City, this annual event connects growers, winemakers, and industry experts to discuss critical industry issues.
The conference emerged from a need for a dedicated event focused on Michigan’s viticulture. While the Michigan Craft Beverage Council supports breweries, distilleries, and cideries, grape growers and winemakers required their own platform.
Dirt to Glass fills this gap by addressing sustainability, fruit quality, and Michigan’s national competitiveness in the wine market.
Each year, the conference rotates locations based on industry input. Sessions cover vineyard management, market positioning, and environmental sustainability.
Past conferences featured renowned experts discussing terroir, vineyard practices, and branding strategies. The event also hosts tasting panels and hands-on discussions tailored to Michigan’s unique wine-growing conditions.
Dirt to Glass thrives on collaboration. Its planning committees include growers, viticulturists, distributors, and Extension specialists who ensure the conference remains relevant. Post-event surveys and open dialogue guide programming decisions to meet industry needs.
Looking ahead, the 2025 event will focus on economic sustainability, cost management, and market positioning. Early registration opens February 1, with fee increases after April 1.
