The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in collaboration with key partners, will host a virtual webinar on August 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Central Time. This monthly briefing focuses on climate conditions and their effects in the Midwest region, covering states from Illinois to Wisconsin.
The webinar will explore various climate variables such as snowpack, temperatures, and precipitation. Attendees will gain insights into past and present climate conditions and understand potential impacts on agriculture, water resources, and navigation. Additionally, the briefing will feature discussions on drought conditions and outlooks for the upcoming weeks, months, and seasons.
Experts from organizations such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the American Association of State Climatologists, and the National Drought Mitigation Center will participate. The event aims to provide valuable information to help stakeholders navigate challenges posed by climate phenomena.
Regions covered include the Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin) and the Missouri River Basin (Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming). Interested participants can register to join this vital discussion.
