MMPA butter wins first place at World Dairy Expo Championship

MMPA butter wins first place at World Dairy Expo Championship

By Andi Anderson

The Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA), a farmer-owned cooperative, has earned first place for its unsalted butter at the prestigious World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest.

This recognition highlights MMPA’s commitment to producing top-tier dairy products, which begins with quality milk from their members' farms and continues through their advanced processing plants.

MMPA’s award-winning butter was produced at their dairy ingredient plant in Ovid, Michigan. This plant, along with others in Indiana and Ohio, adheres to strict quality controls and conducts rigorous testing to ensure that every product meets the highest standards.

Sudeep Jain, MMPA’s Director of Quality, emphasized the importance of this process in delivering delicious and wholesome dairy products to customers every day.

The World Dairy Expo Championship is the only judging contest in North America that includes all dairy product categories, ranging from cheese and butter to yogurt and ice cream.

Winning in the unsalted butter category reinforces MMPA’s longstanding reputation for excellence in dairy production.

MMPA, with a 108-year history, is not only known for its butter but also produces a wide range of dairy ingredients like ultra-filtered milk, nonfat dry milk, and cream.

These products are used in everyday items such as ice cream and baked goods. MMPA members consistently receive national recognition for producing some of the highest quality milk in the U.S.

This latest achievement further strengthens MMPA's legacy as a leader in the dairy industry, with a continued focus on quality from farm to finished product.
