NDSU Crop School 2025 Opens Registration for Attendees

By Scout Nelson

North Dakota State University Extension is inviting crop advisers and farmers to attend the 2025 Crop Management Field School.

The event takes place on June 27 at the Carrington Research Extension Center (CREC). It is open to all agricultural professionals, including agronomists, crop consultants, Extension agents, and producers.

The field school includes sessions led by experienced NDSU specialists. Attendees will learn about weed identification, herbicide site of action, soil health, and soybean disease management.

Weed experts Alicia Harstad and Jeff Stachler will guide participants in identifying weeds common in crop fields. Joe Ikley will explain how herbicides work and how to manage resistance effectively.

The focus will shift to soybean disease and soil health. Wade Webster will teach how to manage diseases in soybean crops. Carlos Pires and Naeem Kalwar will share practical tips on improving soil health for better crop yields.

The day starts with registration at 8:30 a.m. in the CREC meeting room, and the sessions begin at 9 a.m. The school ends at 2:45 p.m. Lunch is included in the $100 registration fee.

Pre-registration is required by June 23, and only 50 spots are available. Early registration is encouraged to secure a place. Certified Crop Advisers attending the field school can earn four continuing education units.

To register or find more information, visit ndsu.ag/cropmgmt25. The CREC is located at 663 Highway 281 NE in Carrington, North Dakota.
