The 2025 Dry Bean Field Day is set for August 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Central Time in Forest River, North Dakota. Organized by North Dakota State University (NDSU) and sponsored by the Northarvest Bean Growers Association, this event will bring together researchers, farmers, and agronomists to share practical insights for the upcoming planting seasons.
The event will feature Juan Osorno, NDSU Plant Sciences Professor, who will present updates on new dry bean varieties. Maria Roberta De Oliveira, a graduate student, will explain how drones are helping in agricultural monitoring and efficiency. Ana Carcedo, NDSU Extension Agronomist for Broadleaf Crops, will provide the latest agronomy updates related to dry bean production. Meanwhile, Michael Wunsch, a Research Plant Pathologist, will offer strategies for managing white mold and using fungicides effectively to protect crops.
Field demonstrations and discussions will provide attendees with practical, research-based solutions they can apply on their farms. Whether you're an experienced grower or new to dry bean farming, the event offers valuable insights to improve yield, manage disease, and adopt new technology.
Registration is appreciated but not required. Interested participants can register online. The event is free to attend, and accommodations for individuals with disabilities are available upon request–attendees are asked to contact Ana Carcedo at a.carcedo@ndsu.edu or 701-831-5796 at least two weeks in advance.
Mark your calendar and don’t miss this opportunity to connect with NDSU experts and fellow growers to enhance your 2025 bean crop success. Stay tuned for more event details coming soon.
