North Dakota State University Research Extension Centers are gearing up for their annual field days. Scheduled across various sites in North Dakota, these events are essential for anyone involved in agriculture, from farmers and ranchers to crop advisors and landowners.
“The agricultural research conducted at our NDSU Research Extension Centers provides research-based solutions that advance agricultural production systems in a variety of areas, including agronomy and crop production, livestock and rangeland management, precision agriculture, and value-added activities," says Greg Lardy, the Joe and Norma Peltier Vice President for NDSU Agriculture.
These field days are a platform for researchers to display the practical solutions developed for the agricultural challenges specific to North Dakota and the surrounding regions.
Here are the scheduled dates and locations:
- July 8: Central Grasslands Research Extension Center, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. CDT
- July 9: Morning agronomy tour at Dickinson Research Extension Center, 8 a.m. - noon MDT; Afternoon session at Hettinger Research Extension Center, 3 - 7 p.m. MDT
- July 10: Morning livestock tour at Dickinson Research Extension Center, 8 a.m. - noon MDT; Afternoon agronomy and horticulture tours at Williston Research Extension Center, 4 - 8 p.m. CDT
- July 11: Irrigation tour at Nesson Valley Irrigated Site, Williston Research Extension Center, 8:30 a.m. - noon CDT
- July 15: Agronomy Seed Farm, 5 - 8 p.m. CDT
- July 16: Carrington Research Extension Center featuring livestock, agronomy, organic and sustainable agriculture, and horticulture tours, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. CDT
- July 17: North Central Research Extension Center, 8:30 a.m. - noon CDT
- July 18: Langdon Research Extension Center, 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. CDT
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts, partake in tours, and view field demonstrations tailored to enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability.
This series of field days by an R1 research institution is an invaluable resource for staying ahead in the rapidly evolving field of agriculture.
