The Nebraska Leadership Education/Action Development (LEAD) Program has announced the selection of 27 individuals for Nebraska LEAD Class 44. These Fellows were chosen for their leadership potential, dedication to agriculture, and commitment to community service.
Starting in September, the new class will embark on a two-year curriculum that combines seminars, study experiences, and international travel. The program aims to expand their understanding of agricultural issues while preparing them to serve as leaders across Nebraska and beyond.
“I am thrilled to welcome this outstanding group of individuals to Nebraska LEAD Class 44,” said Kurtis Harms, Director of the Nebraska LEAD Program. “Nebraska LEAD Class 44 represents the next generation of leaders who will help guide our state forward. These individuals bring unique experiences, perspectives and energy to the program. I’m eager to see how they will grow through this journey and the positive impact they’ll make in their communities and across Nebraska agriculture.”
Now in its 44th year, the Nebraska LEAD Program has built a strong tradition of training agricultural leaders to meet changing challenges and opportunities. Fellows take part in in-state seminars, a national study experience, and an international seminar to gain insight into agricultural systems and leadership needs.
Class 44 Fellows represent a wide range of towns and cities across Nebraska, including Ainsworth, Albion, Aurora, Bassett, Bridgeport, Butte, Byron, Callaway, Champion, Clarks, Columbus, Funk, Glenvil, Hemingford, Howells, Kearney, Leigh, Lincoln, Mason City, Merna, North Platte, Omaha, and Red Cloud.
The Nebraska LEAD Program continues its mission “to prepare and motivate men and women in agriculture for more effective leadership.” More information on the program and its goals can be found at lead.unl.edu.
