Nebraska Farm Bureau Backs Mike Flood Re-election

Nebraska Farm Bureau Backs Mike Flood Re-election

By Scout Nelson

The Nebraska Farm Bureau Political Action Committee (NEFB-PAC) has announced its endorsement of U.S. Rep. Mike Flood as he seeks reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives in Nebraska’s 1st Congressional District. The endorsement highlights his record of supporting policies that benefit agriculture, rural communities, and Nebraska’s overall economy.

According to Nebraska Farm Bureau for leadership, the endorsement reflects Rep. Flood’s long-standing commitment to agricultural priorities. During his time in the Nebraska Legislature and now in Congress, he has supported policies that strengthen farm operations and promote rural development.

“Throughout his career in both the Nebraska Legislature and now in Washington, Rep. Flood has been a strong advocate for Nebraska Farm Bureau priorities such as tax reform, working to expand rural broadband access, as well as growing opportunities for economic development in rural areas,” said Katie Olson, Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) fist vice president and chair of NEFB-PAC.

“We are proud to offer him our endorsement and support as he seeks to continue representing Nebraskans in Congress,” said Olson.

Rep. Flood has also supported legislation that extends lower tax rates originally established under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. In addition, he has backed efforts to strengthen the farm safety net through improvements to federal crop insurance and other Farm Bill provisions.

Energy and fuel policy has also been a focus of his work. Rep. Flood has supported year-round availability of E15 fuel and initiatives that encourage the development and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel. These policies aim to expand markets for agricultural products and increase economic opportunities for farmers.

Another area of emphasis has been reducing regulatory burdens on farmers and ranchers. Rep. Flood has supported efforts to limit regulations that increase production costs or restrict private property rights for agricultural landowners.

The endorsement was determined through the Nebraska Farm Bureau’s grassroots process, which gathers feedback from local county Farm Bureaus across the state. This approach allows members to play an active role in evaluating candidates and shaping policy priorities.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau represents nearly 55,000 member families statewide. The organization works to support agriculture, promote education and advocacy, and strengthen both rural and urban communities across Nebraska.
