Tallgrass, an energy solutions company, is excited to announce a new project to produce low-carbon ethanol in Nebraska.
The project involves using locally grown corn and repurposing the Trailblazer Pipeline to transport carbon dioxide (CO2), a byproduct of ethanol production.
By creating cleaner ethanol fuel and sustainable aviation fuel, Tallgrass aims to support Nebraska's agriculture industry and boost the local economy.
The pipeline will also be used to transport CO2 for other industries, such as breweries and meat processing plants.
John Hladik, Tallgrass' Manager of State and Local Affairs, emphasized the project's potential to benefit Nebraska farmers and communities.
Increasing the demand for corn through low-carbon ethanol production will open new markets for Nebraska agriculture.
Tallgrass is currently working with ethanol plants, communities, and landowners to develop the project. While a timeline has not been set, the company is optimistic about the project's positive impact on Nebraska's economy.
