The Minnesota Pork Board and Minnesota Pork Producers Association have recently appointed two new members to their team. Kate Lorang has taken on the role of Sustainability Outreach Coordinator, while Kirby Hettver has been named Director of Producer Services.
As the new Sustainability Outreach Coordinator, Kate Lorang is set to play a vital role in enhancing the engagement and recruitment of farmers across Minnesota. Her responsibilities include facilitating access to sustainability grants and fostering supply chain partnerships.
With a strong background in agronomy and a degree in Agricultural Communication from South Dakota State University, Lorang is well-equipped to support the state's pig farmers in their sustainability endeavors.
Jill Resler, CEO of both the Minnesota Pork Board and the Minnesota Pork Producers Association, expressed enthusiasm about Lorang's appointment, highlighting her agronomy expertise and commitment to serving the local farming community.
On the other side, Kirby Hettver has stepped into the role of Director of Producer Services, tasked with developing strategic account management plans for stakeholders and enhancing relationships within the industry.
His extensive experience in farming and previous leadership roles, including as President of the Minnesota Corn Growers Board, positions him well to deliver value to Minnesota pork producers.
Both Lorang and Hettver bring deep roots in agriculture and a passion for advancing the pork industry in Minnesota, driven by data and dedicated to continuous improvement and building trust-based relationships.
These new appointments mark a significant step in Minnesota Pork's efforts to promote sustainable practices and strengthen industry connections, ensuring a resilient future for pork producers in the region.
