New State Leaders Empower Ohio Ag Professionals

New State Leaders Empower Ohio Ag Professionals

By Andi Anderson

The Ohio Farm Bureau has announced new leadership and committee members for its Young Agricultural Professionals State Committee.

The updated leadership team and incoming members will be serving on the state committee for 2026-2028, helping guide programs for young farmers and agricultural professionals across Ohio.

For 2026, the Young Agricultural Professionals State Committee will be led by chaircouple Bill and Katherine Brown of Stark County vice chair Hannah Thompson of Meigs County and Secretary Blake Campbell of Washington County.

Together, this leadership team will help oversee planning, coordination, and outreach efforts for the program throughout the year.

Several new members have also been named to the state committee. Those joining the group include Amanda Barndt of Wood County, Olivia Lang of Wayne County, Kenton Richter of Ross County, and Haylee VanScoy of Hardin County.

These individuals will work alongside returning members to support activities and initiatives designed to encourage involvement among young farmers and agricultural professionals.

The leadership team and new committee members were officially announced during the 2026 Winter Leadership Experience held in January.

This annual event brings together Farm Bureau members from across the state to focus on leadership development, networking, and skill building.

The Young Agricultural Professionals State Committee is made up of eight members or couples who help suggest, develop, and conduct activities that create opportunities for young farmers and ag professionals to become more engaged in Farm Bureau programs.

Committee members are selected based on their involvement with Farm Bureau, leadership potential, and commitment to community service.

Committee responsibilities include planning the annual Young Agricultural Professionals winter leadership conference and hosting participants at both in- and out-of-state events.

These activities are designed to build leadership skills, strengthen professional networks, and support the long-term success of Ohio agriculture.

Through this committee, Ohio Farm Bureau continues its mission of working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen communities.

The Young Agricultural Professionals program plays an important role in preparing the next generation of agricultural leaders across the state.
