Nominations Open for 2025 Purdue Ag Women Awards

Nominations Open for 2025 Purdue Ag Women Awards

By Andi Anderson

Purdue University’s Women in Agriculture (WIA) is now accepting nominations for its 2025 awards, recognizing women who have made remarkable contributions to Indiana agriculture. The program honours achievements across three key categories: Emerging Leadership, Achievement, and Leadership.

The Emerging Women in Agriculture Leadership Award is designed to celebrate high school or undergraduate students showing outstanding potential in the agriculture field.

The Achievement Award and Leadership Award are reserved for women actively working in agricultural businesses, farming, or commodity organisations within Indiana.

Jenna Nees, co-chair of the WIA team and head of the awards committee, emphasized the importance of recognising these efforts - “These awards are given to individuals who harness their skills, abilities and strengths to make a difference in the agriculture industry.”

To be eligible, nominees must reside in Indiana and be actively involved in the agriculture sector. The WIA encourages nominations from anyone who is making a difference in agriculture. Detailed eligibility requirements and nomination forms are available online through Purdue’s WIA page.

All nomination packets must include two letters of support and be submitted by May 1 via email to Jenna Nees at smith535@purdue.edu. Winners will be officially recognized at the Celebration of Ag event held during the Indiana State Fair.

If you need assistance or accommodations to complete the nomination process, including access to an interpreter or translator, contact Nees at 765-653-8411 or by email by April 15.

These awards serve as a platform to honour and uplift the dedicated women who drive progress and growth in Indiana's farming and agricultural communities.
