The Ohio Farm Bureau will host a 2025 Agricultural Safety Meeting for members of its Workers’ Compensation Group Rating Program on April 3 at St. Mary’s Hall in Orwell.
This in-person session is open to farmers and farm employees from Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, and Trumbull counties.
All members of the Group Rating Program are required to attend at least one safety meeting annually. This event provides the training necessary to meet that requirement and aims to promote a strong culture of safety in farm operations.
Topics will focus on risk prevention, safe work practices, and securing a healthy agricultural workforce.
The event begins with registration at 9 a.m., and light refreshments will be provided to attendees. The meeting is free for Farm Bureau members, while non-members will be charged a $10 fee. Registration is required by April 2, 2025.
For those who cannot attend in person, Ohio Farm Bureau, in partnership with OSU CFAES Ag Safety Program and Nationwide, offers an online option. The Cultivating Safe Farm Operations e-Learning Program includes three training modules. Completing these online modules will satisfy the annual safety requirement.
Another upcoming opportunity for safety training is the Ohio Safety Congress & Expo, scheduled for April 16–17, 2025, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. This event provides additional resources and sessions to further strengthen workplace safety in the agricultural sector.
To register for the April 3 event, visit the Ohio Farm Bureau website, call 440-426-2195, or email nefarmbu@ofbf.org. This meeting is an important step toward improving safety awareness and ensuring compliance with state agricultural workplace standards.
