The Chestnut Growers of America and Northern Nut Growers Association will co-host a national conference August 3–6, 2025, at the Doubletree by Hilton in downtown Lansing, Michigan.
This event offers an ideal opportunity for nut growers and enthusiasts to network and gain valuable insights.
The four-day conference will begin Sunday with a tour of Nash Nurseries, including orchard and processing facility visits, followed by a networking dinner. The evening will also feature short “lightning talks.”
Monday and Tuesday will include presentations from local and international experts on breeding, propagation, orchard management, harvesting, and marketing. Discussions will also cover health benefits and value-added opportunities in nut production, including chestnuts, walnuts, and hazelnuts. A Monday night auction fundraiser will benefit the organizing associations.
“A printed program with session abstracts will be provided,” organizers shared.
Registration includes meals, snacks, and all technical sessions, including a Tuesday evening banquet. The full registration fee is $295. One-day options and discounts for students, members, and exhibitors are available. Limited space is open for exhibitors.
Wednesday will conclude the conference with an optional full-day bus tour. Stops include Chestnut Growers Inc.—Michigan’s largest chestnut cooperative—and Michigan State University’s Rogers Reserve, where researchers study pawpaw, chestnut, and other tree crops.
An extra ticket can be purchased for Wednesday’s offsite field trips, though transportation is not provided. All individuals interested in nut-producing trees are encouraged to attend.
