One of a Kind 4-H Experiences

By Andi Anderson

The Illinois 4-H Experience Auction will return from Sept. 18 to 20,2026, bringing supporters a chance to bid on exclusive experiences and unique memorabilia while helping fund youth development programs across Illinois.

Organized by Illinois 4-H, a part of University of Illinois Extension in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, the event supports one of the nation’s largest youth development organizations.

Illinois 4-H reaches nearly 200,000 young people throughout the state each year through educational and leadership programs.

Supporters can preview the available auction packages before bidding officially opens at 8 a.m. Central Time on Sept. 18. The online auction will conclude on Sept. 20, giving participants an opportunity to compete for a variety of special experiences.

This year’s auction features 24 unique packages that are not available through traditional travel or entertainment providers. Highlights include private air travel paired with a weeklong stay at Grand Cayman’s famous Seven Mile Beach. Bidders can also pursue luxury mountain vacations in Steamboat Springs and Park City.

Sports enthusiasts will find opportunities to enjoy VIP access to Fighting Illini Basketball events and bid on game-worn Final Four memorabilia.

Family-friendly adventures and distinctive Illinois-based experiences are also part of the auction lineup, offering options for a wide range of interests.

Funds raised through the auction will directly support Illinois 4-H programs. These programs help young people discover personal interests, develop leadership abilities, explore career opportunities, and gain skills needed for future success.

The organization’s mission focuses on preparing youth to become confident and capable leaders in their communities.

The event is presented by the Illinois 4-H Foundation. Its volunteer Board of Directors works throughout the year to create opportunities that strengthen Illinois 4-H programs and expand access for young people across the state.

"The Illinois 4-H Experience Auction is a testament to what can happen when alumni, friends, and industry partners come together to invest in the next generation," said Brian Deverman, chair of the Illinois 4-H Foundation Board of Directors and the global senior product director at BRANDT. "Our board is proud to help bring together these one-of-a-kind experiences because every bid helps ensure more young people have access to the life-changing opportunities that Illinois 4-H provides."
