Over 6200 Huskers Achieve Spring 2026 Academic Excellence

By Scout Nelson

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has announced that more than 6,200 students have been named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester of the 2025–26 academic year. This achievement highlights the dedication and academic excellence of students from different fields of study.

To qualify for the Deans’ List, students must meet specific grade requirements set by their colleges. These requirements range from a 3.6 to 3.75 grade-point average on a four-point scale. Students must also complete a minimum number of semester hours with graded courses. Some students achieved this honor in more than one college, showing their strong academic ability.

The university includes eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center. Important colleges such as Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Engineering, Business, and Arts and Sciences maintain high academic standards to recognize student success.

Agriculture-related programs performed strongly in this list. Students from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources played a significant role. Ava Rose Buhlmann from Albion was recognized for animal science, while Cassidy Maricle also excelled in grassland systems and animal science. Brittany Preister was honored for agronomy, highlighting the importance of crop science.

Garrett Alan Rasmussen from Albion showed excellence in agribusiness, and Jordan Elizabeth Pankonin from Alda also achieved success in the same field. Kennedy Elise Parks from Allen and Dezyrae Paige Hausmann from Alliance demonstrated strong performance in animal science and agricultural leadership.

Other students like Grant Nielson from Archer, recognized for plant biology, and Meredith Ruda from Ames, honored for agricultural leadership, show the wide range of agricultural education. Students from Ayr and Bassett also stood out in agricultural economics and environmental studies.

This recognition reflects Nebraska’s strong focus on agriculture education and its importance in future careers such as farming, research, and agribusiness. The Deans’ List motivates students to continue their academic journey with dedication.

Overall, the achievement of these students brings pride to university and shows the value of education in agriculture and other fields.
