Registration is now open for the 2025 South Dakota Local Foods Conference, organized by the S.D. Local Foods Coalition. Scheduled for November 7-8 in Aberdeen, this conference offers a unique opportunity for producers, food system supporters, and community members to connect, learn, and strengthen the state’s local food network.
The event provides education and networking focused on creating a more resilient and equitable local food system in South Dakota. Attendees will celebrate the work of farmers, eaters, and food professionals who are advancing sustainable agriculture, building strong partnerships, and promoting community education.
As the year draws to a close, the conference will reflect on accomplishments while encouraging innovative thinking and flexibility to address challenges such as shifts in federal programs, economic pressures, and food insecurity in the state.
The conference will be held at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel, 1400 8th Ave NW, Aberdeen, where a limited number of rooms are available at $159.99 per night plus tax. With hunting season drawing large crowds to Aberdeen, early hotel reservations are recommended.
Attendees must register by October 3, 2025, to secure a spot. While registration will be available at the door on a space-available basis, the Coalition cannot guarantee access to workshops or accommodation of dietary needs for late registrants.
