Registration Open for Iowa Farm and Food Celebration Event

Registration Open for Iowa Farm and Food Celebration Event

By Andi Anderson

Registration is now open for the Farm and Food Celebration, a bi-annual event in Iowa that celebrates local food, farmers, and the state’s food system.

Scheduled for June 13 in Grinnell, the event is hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Farm, Food and Enterprise Development team, in partnership with the Iowa Farm to School and Early Care Coalition and the Iowa Food System Coalition.

This one-day event welcomes food systems professionals, K-12 school staff, early care providers, and the general public. Participants can choose to attend the full-day celebration or just the evening Community Dinner.

Registration is open through May 31, and scholarships are available for those applying by May 16.

The event will begin at Grinnell College’s Rosenfield Campus Center with opening remarks and a farmer roundtable featuring local farms like Pleasant Grove Homestead, B&B Farms, Middle Way Farm, and Tangled Roots Farm. A catered lunch will follow, leading into a Farm Crawl in the afternoon.

Attendees will tour four local farms—Grinnell Farm to Table, Compass Plant CSA, Olson Garden Market, and Prairie Produce. These farms represent Iowa’s efforts to create a healthy and sustainable local food system.

The day will conclude with a Community Dinner featuring local cuisine catered by The Iowa Kitchen and Hedge Apple Kombucha, alongside live music and the Golden Root Award presentation. The evening event will spotlight partnerships and recognize outstanding contributors to Iowa’s food system.

Event sponsorship opportunities are available, offering benefits like free event tickets and promotions. Full event details, agenda, registration, and sponsorship information are available on the event’s official webpage.

This event provides a great opportunity to engage with Iowa’s food system leaders and celebrate local agriculture.
