Ohio State Extension will host the Small Farm Conference in Wooster, Ohio, on March 8, with the theme “Sowing Seeds for Success.” The event is designed for small farm owners, new farmers, and those looking to expand or diversify their farming operations.

The conference will feature five tracks: Horticulture and Crop Production, Business Management, Livestock, Natural Resources, and Diversifying Your Enterprise.

Attendees can choose from sessions on topics such as growing in a hoophouse, disease management for apples and peaches, using cover crops for soil regeneration, agritourism, and value-added farming. Tours of high tunnels and grass-fed beef farms will also be available.

Market gardeners, farmers’ market vendors, and those interested in small-scale farming are encouraged to attend. Along with informative sessions, attendees can explore a trade show featuring the latest farming innovations, services, and networking opportunities.

The conference will take place at the Ohio State University Wooster Campus Shisler Conference Center, running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those interested in attending can register through OSU Extension Morrow County at 419-947-1070 or OSU Extension Knox County at 740-397-0401.

This event offers small farm owners valuable insights, hands-on learning, and resources to help them succeed in today’s agricultural industry.
