South Dakota Fair Hosts Largest Classroom Event

South Dakota Fair Hosts Largest Classroom Event

By Scout Nelson

The South Dakota State Fair invites students to join the Largest Classroom and Read and Win program from August 27 to August 29.

This exciting event offers students a chance to explore educational exhibits and participate in hands-on learning experiences. It is designed for public, private, and alternative instruction schools.

During the three-day program, students can enjoy a variety of activities including watching the Flippenout Extreme Trampoline show and interacting with Science Mania. They can also attend special sessions in the Horticulture Building.

Additional attractions include visits to the Dakotaland Museum and the FFA Ag Adventure Center, providing a rich learning environment about agriculture and science.

The Largest Classroom program is free for students, educators, and chaperones. Lunch and parking are provided at no cost to all participants. Schools are encouraged to register early to secure their spot for this popular event. Registration forms are available online at the South Dakota State Fair website.

This program offers a unique way for students to learn outside the classroom in a fun and engaging setting. It supports educational goals by combining entertainment with interactive exhibits that highlight farming, science, and local culture. Teachers benefit from ready-made educational activities that fit well with school curriculums.
