The 2025 Student Research Days took place on April 15-16, featuring over 300 student presentations. A total of 127 graduate students and 183 undergraduate students showcased their research in poster sessions and creative exhibitions. This event highlights the hard work and innovation of students across many academic fields.

Graduate students who won competitive prizes received $400 travel grants to support attending regional or national research events, along with funding for other research costs. Undergraduate winners received prizes worth $250, sponsored by their academic colleges. Additionally, five undergraduates were honored by the University Honors Program for outstanding research achievements.

Hundreds of volunteer judges, including faculty, postdoctoral researchers, staff, and graduate students, met with presenters during both morning and afternoon sessions to evaluate their work. The awards recognize students for excellence in scholarship and presentation skills.

Graduate student awardees represented diverse fields such as nutrition, physics, agronomy, engineering, chemistry, architecture, history, and family studies. Their research topics ranged from immune system pathways to environmental engineering, material science, and global health.

Undergraduate award winners came from a variety of colleges including Agricultural Sciences, Architecture, Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, and Journalism. Their projects covered topics such as biochemistry in hibernating mammals, sustainable building design, psychological studies, and data science applications.

The University Honors Program recognized undergraduate researchers for communication, interdisciplinarity, originality, and contributions to their fields. These awards highlight the quality and impact of student research at the university.

Student Research Days continue to provide an important platform for students to share their research, gain feedback from experts, and receive recognition for their academic achievements. This event strengthens the research community and encourages continued scholarship among students.

Overall, the event celebrates student innovation and the pursuit of knowledge across a wide range of disciplines.
