U.S. dairy seeks boost from new government

U.S. dairy seeks boost from new government

By Jamie Martin

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) is actively engaging with the incoming administration to establish a set of federal policy priorities that could herald a new era for U.S. dairy.

With over 300 members, IDFA is urging the government to enhance innovation, ease business operations, and expand global markets for U.S. dairy products.

"IDFA is pleased to share the priorities of the dairy industry with the government's transition team leaders to build new momentum and drive greater prosperity across the U.S. dairy supply chain," said Michael Dykes, D.V.M., President and CEO of IDFA.

This collaboration aims to address significant industry challenges, including workforce issues, market access, and regulatory burdens, to potentially initiate a 'new golden age' for U.S. dairy.

Representing a powerful sector that supports millions of jobs and significantly impacts the U.S. economy, IDFA’s initiatives are crucial.

Their efforts focus on ensuring that U.S. dairy remains at the forefront of providing nutritious and high-quality products both domestically and internationally.

By aligning with government support, IDFA seeks to overcome current obstacles, enhancing the industry’s economic impact and securing a sustainable future for U.S. dairy producers and processors.
