The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has revealed several key staff appointments and promotions, marking significant changes in its leadership structure. These changes are set to impact various departments within the USDA, from marketing and regulatory programs to rural development.
Eric Deeble has been promoted to Deputy Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs. Previously serving as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Relations, Deeble’s extensive experience includes policy roles and a background in veterinary medicine.
Cindy Long is now the Deputy Under Secretary for Food and Nutrition Service. Long’s promotion follows her tenure as Administrator for the Food and Nutrition Service, where she played a pivotal role in implementing significant nutrition policy changes under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act.
Sean Babington has been elevated to Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Secretary. Babington has been instrumental in advancing the USDA’s climate agenda and has a strong background in forestry, pesticides, and climate change policy.
Andrew Dinsmore takes on the role of Maryland and Delaware State Director for Rural Development. Dinsmore joins the USDA after a dedicated career in public service with Senator Chris Coons, focusing on economic, transportation, and housing issues.
Pam Monetti has been appointed as the Illinois State Director for Rural Development. Coming from a background in public relations and community safety, Monetti’s experience includes significant engagement with labor unions and media relations.
These appointments are expected to strengthen USDA’s capabilities in addressing the needs of the agricultural sector and enhancing rural development initiatives.
