Apply for Missouri CSP funding by July 31, 2024

By Blake Jackson

The Missouri Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is urging agricultural producers throughout the state to submit applications for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding by July 31, 2024.

This program offers financial assistance to implement climate-smart agricultural practices on cropland, pastureland, hayland, and forested land. Eligible activities encompass a wide range of sustainable approaches, including cover cropping, conservation tillage, wetland restoration, prescribed grazing, nutrient management, and tree planting.

The NRCS utilizes ACT NOW, a streamlined application processing system that expedites approvals for applications exceeding a state-determined minimum ranking score and meeting program requirements.

While applications for CSP are accepted continuously, funding is allocated based on enrollment periods with designated cut-off dates. Applications received after July 31st will be automatically considered during the subsequent funding cycle.

Producers can submit applications directly at their local NRCS office. These offices serve as valuable resources, providing detailed information about the program and application process for NRCS benefits.

To learn more about NRCS programs and explore available assistance, please visit the website at www.mo.nrcs.usda.gov or contact your local NRCS office.

NRCS staff are readily available to guide producers through the application process and ensure they leverage opportunities to enhance their agricultural operations while promoting environmental sustainability.
